Mistress of the Air is a Comic, Steampunk, Erotic Adventure.

Lady Sally Rudston-Chichester owns a brass mine in Zanzibar, a Lapsang Souchong tea plantation in China, a rubber tree farm in Malaysia, trunk loads of corsetry, and the country’s largest collection of antique whips and floggers.

Larger than life, and itching to find new and inventive ways to punish her submissive gentlemen, the Edwardian dominatrix has a vision. Embracing the spirit of the new age of aviation, she embarks on a series of adventures on her own airship, The Corseted Domme, with her transvestite maid, Victoria, her airship pilot, Captain Wyndham, and her automaton sex toy, Borghild.

A select group of submissive gentlemen, consisting of a duke, bishop, lawyer and banker, is invited to join Lady Sally so she can try out her new dastardly devices and sex toys on them. She whips, spanks and punishes her way across the Empires of Europe, dropping off to visit her aristocratic relatives and friends for afternoon tea.

But Lady Sally’s journey is not uneventful. War is threatening to break out and the Ministry of Aviation want to commandeer her airship for the war effort. And when The Corseted Domme has a crash landing, Lady Sally realises there is a stowaway on board intent on sabotaging her airship.

There will be wild escapades, kinky BDSM, dastardly devices, explosions and nice cups of tea!

Story Extract

Another flash of lightning filled the viewing window with a blinding white light.

“Oh, how exciting. This storm is quite turning me on!” she exclaimed, ripping off the glass tube attachment and replacing it with a bullet-like brass fitting.

She turned the current down and the vibration up… right up high. She wriggled out of her satin knickers, plonking herself on her upholstered throne, desperate for release. The thunder rumbled… the lightning flashed… the brass object buzzed, as Lady Sally pressed it against her sex.

She rolled it over her cunt lips, then onto her clit, sending shock waves of erotic pleasure shooting through her.

The giant airship rolled and rollicked against the gale, tilting dangerously as it forced its way onwards, its tip penetrating the dark folds of cloud.

“Oh my god, madam. We’re going to crash!” wailed Victoria from under the rack.

Oblivious to the storm, indeed, in tandem with the storm, Lady Sally pushed the whirring, vibrating object up her crack. The pleasure of using her new device along with the wild excitement of the storm meant she was sopping. She moaned in pleasure in time to the rumbling thunder, and thrust the throbbing object deeper inside her with each lightning strike until she could hold back no longer, breaking into a long, satisfying orgasm.

“God, that was good!” she exclaimed after she’d recovered.

She stood up, unsteady on her feet both from the exertions of her climax and the airship which was listing from side to side.

It was at this point cook appeared. She was confronted with Lady Sally, crotch sopping with juices, breasts hanging out, dishevelled black hair, wild-eyed, and precariously balanced on stiletto ankle-boots, holding a vibrating brass bullet.

“I can’t go on like this your ladyship,” she grumbled. “I can’t do any baking with this ‘ere airship thing rolling from side to side. And me jelly moulds have fallen on the floor; I’m telling you milady, they’ll all be dinted now.”

Cook, being considerably shorter than her employer, was eye-level with Lady Sally’s bare tits.

“But it’s supper time, cook. I could murder a smoked salmon and cucumber sandwich.”

Cook crossed her arms and pulled a face, “A sandwich. You expect me to make sandwiches in these conditions.”
“Well yes, and a pot of tea as well, of course.”

There was another crack of thunder, followed at once by a flash of lightning. The airship listed sharply. Lady Sally tottered one way on her high heels but managed to keep her balance. The airship rolled to the other side. She teetered for a moment, then collapsed on top of cook, whose face became smothered in Lady Sally’s breasts.

She lay there for several minutes, cook crushed under her corset-clad body. The airship was still rolling from side to side with turbulence. Lady Sally had great difficulty pulling herself up, not being able to receive any assistance from her maid who was still a gibbering wreck underneath the rack. Eventually she heaved herself off the floor.

Cook gulped in a deep breath, “Oh my lord,” she exclaimed, “I’ve been suffocated by a pair of boobies!”

CandySnatch, on Cara Sutra blog and review site 26/6/2017, 10/10

When I saw Cara was looking for someone to review a steampunk erotica book for Pleasure Panel I knew I had to read this book. I love the whole steampunk genre, the clothes, the style it’s all very appealing. I could imagine it translating to erotica well. However, I wasn’t prepared for what the Mistress of the Air would have to offer.

Written by Slave Nano, Mistress of the Air centres around the formidable Lady Sally Rudston-Chichester.  An Infamous aristocratic English Dominatrix. Lady Sally is looking to procure an airship captain for an adventure of erotic pleasure and pain. The dashing Captain Charles Wyndham takes on far more than he bargains for when he agrees to take on the role.

Lady Sally has commissioned an airship of stunning magnitude, a floating palace of sadistic pleasure. The fabulously named Corseted Domme is a one of a kind masterpiece of engineering. Lady Sally intends to travel the world with her faithful maid Victoria and four submissive slaves of high standing. Victoria was a favourite character of mine.

The character is a mainstay throughout the story fussing over her mistress from the beginning. She confesses to Capt. Wyndham that she originally arrived in Lady Sally’s employment as an overalled engineer to install a steam powered water system.

Falling under Lady Sally’s spell, she has been living as her transvestite maid Victoria happily ever since. Victoria fluctuates between full on horny and total meltdown as Lady Sally careers from adventure to adventure. She is fiercely loyal to her Mistress and always has her best interests at heart.

Lady Sally herself is amazing. Unflappable, stoic, a typical English upper crust lady. She has an exceptional talent for sexual dominance and a penchant for gadgetry which would make James Bond jealous. Aboard the Corseted Domme she spreads her own special brand of domination across the skies to her very willing slaves.

As the crew of the Corseted Domme run into untold exciting altercations involving gun fights and explosions the relationship between the handsome Capt. Wyndham and Lady Sally begins to blossom. Will they solve the mystery of who is trying to sabotage Lady Sally’s air bourn adventures? Will Capt. Wyndham find himself strapped to Lady Sally’s whipping bench? Far be it from me to spoil the ending of this rip-roaring adventure.

I thoroughly enjoyed Mistress of the Air. I loved the characters, who all felt very well rounded and found myself falling slightly in love with Lady Sally. The story is full of heavy sexual content but it’s done in such a light-hearted way it’s hard to describe it as erotica. It did work me up at times reading it but it’s interspersed with real comedic moments which genuinely made me laugh out loud.

The writing is excellent, there is little padding and much action and the fast-paced plot kept me wanting more every time I put the book down. Darting from one exotic location to another the story is bisected into ground based adventure and the airborne D/s sex games. Lady Sally has a vast wealth of ingenious steam powered sex toys, including a brass automaton sex doll!

The comedy element in the writing is evident in the bawdy names of Lady Sally’s various acquaintances, from Princess Maria Labiastein to Count Clitovsky. The writing is heavily suffused with euphemism, there is a subtext to almost everything within the story. Passages such as:

“He spotted an opening. He could see the Zeppelins through a gash in the puffy cloud ahead. He was going to thrust the airship through the crack and penetrate the fleet of airships.”

Are scattered throughout the story. This subtext adds a sexy dimension to even the more action-packed bits of the plot.

The sex scenes themselves centre around Lady Sally inflicting varying degrees of pain and pleasure to her willing slaves. And in the process working herself into a sexual frenzy. This results in probably the hottest masturbation scene I’ve read, as a naked Lady Sally presses herself against the airship windows and wanks above London in full view of the gathering crowds.

If I was to make a complaint about Mistress of the Air it would simply be I was disappointed when it finished! I’d have liked it to be longer and I’m strongly hoping this won’t be the last I read of Lady Sally.

This would be a perfect beach read or holiday book for anyone with a taste for D/s sex and a sense of humour. I bloody loved it! I give Mistress of the Air a resounding 10/10! This is a brilliant read which I will be strongly recommending to all my friends. I really wish I’d held onto it for my holiday

By Sally Bend, on Bending the Bookshelf 27/6/2017

As a fan of S. Nano’s Dungeon Mistress Adventures and Adventures in Fetishland, I was definitely eager to give  Mistress Of The Air a read . . . and I am delighted to say it is, far and away, my favorite!

This is a comic BDSM-themed steampunk adventure that delivers on every one of those terms. It is funny, it is sexy, and it is exciting, often at the very same time, and even more often in the most inappropriate ways. The characters are parodies and caricatures in many respects, poking fun at Victorian literature, vintage science fiction, pulp adventure, and contemporary erotica, but they are also engaging personalities with whom you cannot help but fall in love.Lady Sally Rudston-Chichester is a spoiled rich heiress whose innocent sort of arrogance makes her a delight; Victoria is her transvestite maid, an obedient submissive who provides much of the comic relief; and Borghild is her automaton sex-doll, a steampunk marvel that never tires; while Captain Wyndham is the only ‘normal’ member of the crew, a man with whom Lady Sally flirts uncontrollably, but who is there more to observe on the reader’s behalf than to be dominated. Then, of course, there is the duke, bishop, lawyer, and banker, who are there to be the objects of Lady Sally’s whips, floggers, paddles, strap-ons, and steampunk sex toys – which, more often than not, malfunction in glorious moments of painful excess. While they do not get to demonstrate a lot of personality, I loved how the bishop goes to great lengths to keep his vows of chastity while being punished and penetrated. There are also family members of Lady Sally’s throughout the world, on whom she descends to impose herself, and who cause no end of mischief in trying to claim her airship for their own means.

There is a plot here, with a comical series of events that keep the adventure moving, but they are secondary to the sexual exploits. I have, quite honestly, never had so much fun with a story as I did with Mistress Of The Air. It was everything I could have wanted from S. Nano, and so much more. If you can stand a little tongue-in-cheek while enjoying steampunk-fired dildos jack-hammering between other cheeks, then this is a must-read.

Steampunk Adventure, bondage erotica and pulp humour – an odd combination that works

Steampunk adventure, bondage erotica, and pulp humour. The three shouldn’t go together. Hell, they shouldn’t even be in the same sentence, much less the same book. And yet, in so far as Mistress Of The Air is concerned, the combination works.I’ve been in something of a reading rut lately, and it seems S. Nano was precisely what I needed.Mistress Of The Air is the story of Lady Sally Rudston-Chichester (a rich, eccentric, well-connected Dominatrix), The Corseted Domme (the largest airship to ever take to the skies), the odd assortment of men who accompany her, and the even odder assortment of steampunk sex toys and bondage devices that bring them all together. It is an altogether ridiculous tale, full of slapstick pratfalls, running gags, Wiley Coyote-like equipment malfunctions, and daring escapes from impossible situations. Against that backdrop, the bondage erotcia should seem awkward and rather forced, but the sheer charismatic extravagance of Lady Sally makes it all work. The straight man to this comedic entourage is Captain Wyndham, the only man aboard The Corseted Domme not to feel the bite of her whip. If this were a movie, he’d be Harrison Ford, channeling the most daring characteristics of Han Solo and Indiana Jones, only with a sexy C-3PO replacing Chewbacca as co-pilot. The steampunk elements are as inventive as they are erotic, and their tendency to malfunction beneath the over-enthusiastic hand of Lady Sally keeps the story from getting stale or repetitive. For my first taste of S. Nano, Mistress Of The Air was actually rather delightful. So much so that I intend to pick up the original three Lady Sally short stories (contained in Beltane Fire, Fifty Shades of Green, and Of Passion and Steam – the last of which I’m actually overdue in reviewing) in short order.

A fun, light-hearted BDSM romp

This is a fun book, combining steam-punk, BDSM, an over-the-top posh British lady, an upright aviator and a cast of other characters.
It’s a good book for dipping into, as there are a number of incidents (typically involving mayhem and a nice cup of tea) with, er, imaginative BDSM scenes as the airship travels from one location to another. Nothing heavy, nothing too dramatic, nothing literary, a fun easy read.

Enjoyable steampunk femdom romp
As a fan of both steampunk and femdom I coouldn’t resist buying this. It’s an enjoyable romp, with lashings of…er, lashings. The BDSM is not taken very seriously, and the scenes didn’t do much for me. They are for the most part depictions of consensual practices, which is safe and sensible but not great from a literary point of view – not much tension. There are a few non-consensual episodes, and I enjoyed those much more. Oddly, some of the near-vanilla scenes are hotter, which I hadn’t expected. It’s good fun, though, and sort of steampunk in a ‘Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines’ sort of way, with dastardly villains who twirl mustaches and funny foreigners who have names like Kina Lingus and Klitovski. Lady Sally, the heroine, is a larger-than-life character with improbable anatomy and outfits. I do wish she wouldn’t keep telling me people she was a ‘strict English dominatrix’ though – you know, show don’t tell.

I’d have preferred more of a plot, though it did rather remind me of the Hearst document about the celebrity round-the-world trip on the Graf Zeppelin in 1929 – the whole thing is available to watch on YouTube, and forms a nice companion to this book.
